Akinlayo, Ekiti Reps Member – Elect Urges Constituent People, Others To Re-Embrace Old Naira Notes 

… Commends CBN For Accepting It As Legal Tender Again 

Honourable Akinlayo Davidson Kolawole, the recently elected Federal House of Representatives Member representing the good people of the Ekiti North Federal Constituency 2, has urged his constituents people and others in Ekiti State and beyond to Re-Embrace the old naira notes without fear now that the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has approved it to be a legal tender once again.

He equally commended the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, for accepting the old naira notes as a legal tender for Nigerians.

Akinlayo who made this known in a statement made available to Treasure Newspaper in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday morning explained that it is imperative to create the awareness to his people considering the controversies that surrounded the naira redesign.

The lawmaker-elect advised his people to continue to trade with the old and new naira notes simultaneously saying the deadline for the old notes is now December, 2023.

Akinlayo said: “It is my duty as a responsible leader to interprete government policies to my people and guide them in all forms so as to make life better for them.

“I am hundred percent committed to the well-being of my people and I am ready to do anything to achieve this foresight.

“Leadership is not all about money alone, you also need to give your people sense of belonging, direct them through the path of success in their endeavors.

“My people love me and that is why they voted me and I am not ready to take this rare privilege for granted.

The Ikosun born entrepreneur expressed happiness over the new directive to trade with the old naira notes saying the lack of cash actually subjected people to hardship and affected their businesses.

According to him, there is now hope that the economy especially the Small Scale Enterprise SME which is the heart of the economy will receive a boost.

Akinlayo commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his colleagues who went to court to fight the naira design policy saying such action was what has bailed Nigerians out of its sufferings.
