I Will Deliver More Dividends Of Democracy In My Second Coming – Femi Akindele

The Member of the House of Assembly representing the good people of Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency 1, into the Ekiti House of Assembly of Ekiti State, and contesting for second term as the Assembly member for his Constituency, Honourable Femi Akindele, has assured his constituents of his readiness to bring in more dividends of democracy for them.

Akindele gave his assurance on Saturday while fielding questions from pressmen at his Igede Ekiti country home.

Speaking further, Akindele said he would continue to facilitate more developmental programmes and projects for the well being of his constituents. “When you are sent on an errand and you are doing your best, you should be able to put in more of the best. They should expect nothing but the best from me. I can assure them that I will always put in the best”, he promised.

Akindele when confronted to recount on his previous achievements as a member of the current House of Assembly in Ekiti State, said he gave a qualitative representation to his Constituency in the last three and half years which earned him a national award. 

According to him, he added that, “in line with the Nigerian Constitution of 1999 as amended, you know the jobs of legislators revolves round appropriation, over – sight and several other functions as maybe available for our legislations”. 

“I want to tell you that I have been found to be outstanding in the last three years to the extent, that I was given a national award to that effect and that means I have represented my people well”.

Continuing, Akindele explained that, “In terms of giving back, you know the era of constituency projects are gone. You can as well verify if truly I have facilitated so many projects within the community. My entire constituency, there is no secondary school that I have not facilitated projects to”. 

Also, “I can tell you, that of all the primary schools in my constituency, I have facilitated projects to all of them in terms of other infrastructure”. 

Citing Odo Oro as example, Akindele revealed that, “he built an health center there which is part of his constituency and did several other things. I can tell you that up till this day, all the available boreholes in my constituency, I have maintained all and made sure all are functioning”.

Also, speaking with one Mr Martins Ajayi, a farmer, he added that Honourable Femi Akindele has helped farmers with  seedlings, tools, insecticides and funds for their farming work, saying he is a worthy son of igede Ekiti who has made them proud.

On the use of the BVAS, Akindele commended INEC for the introduction of BVAS into voting system which he said has made accreditation simple, fast thereby adding credibility into the Country’s electoral system.
