… Cries Out For Help

The Female Law students of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, has recently held a peaceful protest against one of their lecturers over sexual exploitations and harassments.
The Female Law Students who in their large numbers stormed the office of the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Florence Obi in protests, cried out against the actions of their lecturer, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Ndifon over his incessant sexual harassments and exploitations of students.
A video which went viral and stumbled upon by the Treasure Newspaper on Twitter showed the students of the Faculty of Arts of the Institution protesting at the office of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi, displaying placards with different inscriptions such as, “law students are not bonanzas”, “the faculty of law is not a brothel”, “Prof. Ndifon must go for our sanity“ among many others.
Investigations conducted by the Treasure Newspaper revealed that the same Professor Ndifon was earlier suspended in the year 2016 following a petition by Nkang Sinemobonge, a 400-level law student who accused him of rapping her in his office while she was retaking a test.
Details came across by Treasure Newspaper revealed that it is not the first time Professor Ndifon has been accused of sexual impropriety.
Responding to the allegations, the ‘Document Women’ Twitter handler revealed that the query on September 1, 2015; shows there are several allegations of those sexually assaulting and harassing students on the campus most especially on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
They unanimously demanded for the outright sack of the lecturer following his antecedents in 2015 and 2016.
They submitted that following the 2015 and 2016 accusations till now, it is obvious the school authority’s last resorts has always been suspension; but now the students all wants Prof. Ndifon to leave for the sake of sanity.
