The popular human rights and the leader of the ‘Revolution Now’ in Nigeria, Comrade Omoyele Sowore has declared that the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu is now the most expensive ghost worker in the history of the Country. 

Sowore who made the statement in Akure, the Ondo State Capital on Saturday while addressing the ‘resign or resume’ protesters at the Akure Town Hall blasted those who held the people of Ondo State hostage for over one year over the leadership crisis in the Sunshine State. 

He openly accused the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu for squandering a whopping sum of over N7.9 billion on Security Votes in the State. 

In his words, Omoyele said, “Akeredolu has become a ghost worker in Ondo State. By the way, he is the most expensive ghost worker in Nigeria’s history. Someone who did not come to work but squandered over N7.9 billion on Security Votes. 

Continuing, Sowore said, “our plan was to have a town hall meeting at the Akure Town Hall and shutdown Ondo State until they do the right thing. Like our Sister, Yemi Adamolekun also said, we have tolerated these nonsense for too long in Ondo State”.

He scolded the people of Ondo State, whom people used to invoke the Ondo State name to fight against suppression for not standing up on time for what is right in the State. “When oppressor now became the Governor of Ondo State, Ondo State people could not talk.

He revealed that, as himself and his ‘Revolutionary Movement’ were planning to rap up and come down to Ondo State, they received many threats targeting at scaring them from coming. 

“I told my people, we will intervene and we gave them one week to do so. This crisis. This crisis in Ondo State has been going on for more than one year. All the political parties could not solve the problem. We decided that we will intervene and within one week, everybody was able to arrange themselves in their proper order.

“The person who has been claiming of being in government, suddenly wants to go back to the hospital. And we asked them, if you are writing another letter that you are going on another medical leave, did you come back from the last medical leave? Akeredolu did not come to Akure since September.

“Akeredolu has become a ghost worker in Ondo State.

“We want to tell the guy in Abuja, their senior brother, Tinubu. I don’t know why he will seat down in Abuja and wants to tell the people of Ondo State what to do.

“Ondo State is different from Lagos. Ondo State is different from the nonsense that brought them to power. 

“I don’t know why Tinubu is always comfortable with forgery. How can you as President accept the forgery of the signature of a Governor even after they claim they have resolved the problem. He still asked them to go and forge another letter. Ask any member of the House of Assembly to show you the copy of the letter they said Akeredolu wrote again. They cannot find it because there was no letter.

“Ondo State people must stand up. People have asked me. Maybe Sowore wants to become the Governor of Ondo State. I told them Ondo State is too small for me to cover. We have people who can govern Ondo State better than Akeredolu. And they will contest in the next election but that is not what we are here for.

“In fact, Nigeria is too small for us to govern. We want to govern the continent of Africa. That is our ambition and our desire and our goal.

“We want to unite Africa and govern it as one entity. So, I am not here to become the Ondo State Governor.

“I want to also say, that, it is a shame that all the professionals in Ondo State, lawyers, Doctors, including the House of Assembly, all of them were scared when we want to come for this meeting.

“They were scaring us up and down. They will arrest us. This one will stab you, in my State. We are here. Come and stab me now. And we are here today. Where are they?

“It is because we have demonstrated courage and those they said will arrest us, that went to go and disturb the Deji of Akure, we will still handle their problem. But also want to use this opportunity to tell our traditional rulers not to be afraid of anybody.

“If this hall was not made available to us, we would have gone to the Deji’s Palace to go and hold the town hall meeting because Palaces are designed to hold town hall meetings. In fact, it is the Yoruba people that started holding town hall meetings, the town hall meeting will take place in the Palace, and they will deposed an Oba and the Oba will passed through a different door. But we are glad that we have resolved that peacefully”, he ended.
