Market Traders Association In Ekiti Sets To Enumerates Members

The Ekiti State Market Traders Association of Nigeria, led by its State Chairman, Comrade Alofe Jacob Oludare has held a crucial meeting to intensified efforts towards uniting the Market Traders and other business groups across the sixteen local government areas of Ekiti State as part of preparation for the enumeration of members.

The enumeration exercise, according to him will cover all Artisans, the Private Sectors, Market Men and Women who are also regarded as Informal Sector.

Expatiating further, he said the goal of the enumeration exercise which would also take place in the Association will spread across the 36 States of the Federation including Abuja.

He added that the exercise will help to generate Value Added Tax by collaborating with the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, to Carry out the enumerations perfectly, with the aid of some sophisticated machines for proper documentation.

He went on to explain that the step will also assist and bail out the government from loosing Trillions of Naira every year.

Speaking further with the Treasure Newspaper, the Chairman of MATAN in Ekiti State, Comrade Alofe Jacob Oludare said the programme will no doubt be a laudable one for all the members.

He assured members of the body that the development will attract lots of opportunities and benefits for the enumerated members such as health and wellness, business insurance, members life insurance, free legal representation, grants and loans for members, monthly raffle draws where members will have opportunities to win browsing phones, laptops, luxury cars and houses among many others.

He however revealed that the initiative will provide employment opportunities for over 500 agents across Ekiti State to reduce the unemployment rates among the youths.

He used the opportunity to also called on the general public to cooperate with the project managers and officers of MATAN in the course of discharging their duties across the State.
