The Appeal Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State Capital has on Tuesday (today) reserved the judgement to a later date yet to be disclosed by the Judges in an appeal filed by Dr Rahman Adedoyin, the founder of Hilton Royal Hotel, Ile Ife Over Timothy Adegoke’s untimely death months after a lower court which sat in Osogbo, Osun State sentenced him and two others into death by hanging.

Presenting his brief in the matter, the lawyer to the appellant, Barrister Eleja, SAN explained that the judgement of the lower court on the matter is not substantial enough since the court also discharged and acquainted three of the defendants, urging the court to uphold the appeal.

Meanwhile, in the brief of the lawyer to the respondent at the Appealate Court on Tuesday, Barrister Femi Falana, SAN, urged the court to dismiss the appeal, expressing the optimism that Justice will be served in the matter.

Responding to journalists who besieged him after the court session, Barrister Femi Falana, SAN, said, “his expectation is that justice would be done at the end of the case. The judges will consider the evidence before them as the briefs of agreements of counsels and then, pronounced their judgements. All we can only say, may God guide them because we can’t preempt them. That will be contempt of court”, he explained.

Asking him about the activities in the court, Falana queried if journalists were not there. Stressing it, he confirmed that they were in the court, in other words, urging them to rely on their observations.

Adding further, he explained that, the parties have adopted their briefs and expantiated based on their proofs, pointing out, in his own case, that he has urged the appealate court to affirmed the judgement of the lower court and set aside the appeal from Dr Rahman Adedoyin, who has already being sentenced to death by hanging along with two others.

Falana arguing from the evidence before the appellate court, involving conspiracy, revealed that it has established, that he took part in the murder of Timothy Adegoke beyond doubt.

The three appellate court judges (names withheld), considering the sensitivity of the matter, has however reserved the judgement till a date that will be communicated to the counsels.

It would be recalled that the Osun State Chief Judge, Mrs Adepele Ojo, who presided over the matter, in her judgment, had sentenced Adedoyin, and two of his staff members, one Adeniyi Aderogba and Oyetunde Kazeem,
