A Rebuttal to Akin Fasae’s Allegations

I am compelled to respond to Mr. Akin Fasae’s claims regarding my tenure as a member of the Waste Management Board. Contrary to his assertions, I am not a “cancerous member” who threatened to resign without cause. The facts are as follows:

Upon discovering that the DG was not allowing board members to participate in the board’s affairs, I raised an objection and gave the DG and Chairman a one-month ultimatum to rectify the situation. They promptly adjusted their approach, and we were taken to the dumping site after six months of my membership.

However, upon realizing that the retired GM of the agency was in charge of the dump site in collaboration with the Chairman and DG, I expressed my concerns and stepped back from the board platform. After a two-month absence, I was invited for reconciliation, which I honored. The Chairman and DG acknowledged their faults, pledged to improve, and we reconciled.

I wish to clarify that I have not resigned from my appointment, contrary to Mr. Akin Fasae’s claims. I respect him as an elder and a party member, and I hope we can maintain our party unity, especially as we work towards a common goal with Engr. Kayode Ojo. Let’s focus on our shared objectives and avoid letting our differences divide us.
