Adeleke Wins Re-election as Osun Governor, Defeats APC’s Oyebamiji in Landslide

The Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE, Prof. Ogunwole Olalekan, announced the results on Sunday morning at the State Collation Centre in Osogbo.

According to results collated and declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes. The African Democratic Congress, ADC, came a distant third with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke won the majority of the 30 local government areas in the state.

INEC also announced the cancellation of results in one polling unit each in Ward 2 and Ward 9 of Ife Central Local Government Area.

With the declaration, Governor Adeleke has been returned elected for a second term in office.
