… Says Former Governor Born To Be People’s General

The Alumni Association of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo has mourned the death of the former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, describing him as a man born to be the people’s General.
The National Alumni Association body, in a press release signed by its National President, Dr Festus Festus Olowogboyega and the National Acting Secretary, Dr Charles Omotayo, on behalf of the National Executive Council, Board of Trustees and it’s Elders Forum, joined the people of Ondo State to mourn the passing away of the former Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN.
The Alumni body extended it’s sympathy to the immediate family of the former Governor, describing him as a foremost lawyer and politician who served the people and saw the world as its main constituency to gain better attraction for human civilization.
They emphasized how the Late Akeredolu did a lot of landmark projects during his time as Governor of Ondo State among which included the Deep Sea Port, the Ore Bridge, the Ondo – Linyi Industrial Hub which are all a testament of the kind of heart he had for the people as contained in the statement released by the Association.

The Association further acknowledged the role played as a result of the late Governor’s love for Nigeria, which became public knowledge during the turbulent transition from the last administration to the present one.
They said his loud voice to save the country from disintegration by the ethnic violence proved that he was a patriot and a peace maker per excellence. Also, the role he played in the establishment of the Amotekun Corp proved that he was born as the people’s General.
The Alumni Association however submitted reminded the public how the time tested public lecture he delivered during the 59th founders day of the Institution in May 2023, will continue to be a guide for them for future engagement.

“We also take solace in the exemplary life he lived and we humbly say that he will be sorely missed by the people of Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole. They prayed for his soul rest in perfect peace”, they ended.
