Professor Mogaji in his response to a request for an update by Treasure Newspaper clarify that ASUU is yet to issue any ultimatum or information as regards strike, thereby calling on those sections of the media not to mislead the public on the position of ASUU.
In a further response, Professor Mogaji stated that the directive given to them as at the last NEC meeting held on the 8th of June at their National Headquarters in Abuja was that they should go back and mobilize and sensitise members and organize a town hall meeting with the market women to intimate them on what is going on, and interact with the students as a major stakeholder in the struggle
The FUTA ASUU Chairman however used the opportunity to refresh the minds of the public on their demands which include the failure of the Federal Government to honour the 2009 Federal Government/ASUU agreement which has been due for renegotiation as at 2012; the Revitalisation of Public Universities; the payment of their promotion arrears and Payment of our statutory allowances and withheld salaries.

academic allowances that has already been captured into the 2023 budget but up till now, government is not doing anything as regards the payment; the unconditional and illegal dissolution of Governing Councils after they kicked against it.
Professor Mogaji berated the Federal Government’s decision to continue to ignore ASUU demands which had earlier called for the reinstatements of the Governing Councils who are yet to complete their tenure.
Hammering on the need for the Federal government to remove the University Academics from the IPPIS platform, Mogaji clearly revealed that the IPPIS is a scam that will not be allowed to work in the University system because of its peculiarities.
