BOUESTI Records Big Win At NUGA Games

BOUESTI has delivered a standout performance at the 27th Nigeria University Games (NUGA), securing eight medals including four gold in its first-ever appearance since the institution was founded five years ago.

Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti surprised many established universities after finishing 18th on the medals table, thanks to an impressive display of talent across multiple events.

The school clinched gold in Female Handball, Judo (48kg), Tennis Female Singles, and Tennis Female Doubles. It also earned a silver medal in Tennis Mixed Doubles, and bronze medals in Judo (78kg), Badminton Male Singles, and Table Tennis.

The performance has quickly positioned BOUESTI as an emerging force in university sports.

Reacting to the achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa described the outing as “a triumphant debut,” praising the athletes, coaches and the Sports Unit for their commitment.

He said the institution will continue to invest in sports development.

BOUESTI’s debut has since been celebrated as proof that determination, teamwork and preparation can place even a young university on the national stage.
