The Vice Chancellor of the Bamidele Olumilua University Of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti, Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa has on Wednesday at the Institution’s sports pavilion presided over his last matriculation ceremony in office, and welcomes a total of 6,900 new students into the University.

Addressing the new students, Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa counselled the new students to stay away from hard drugs and study hard to excel in their academics while on campus.

Speaking further, Adeoluwa urged the new students not to forget or be distracted about the goals and aspirations that prompted and spur them to seek admission into the Institution before they were admitted.

He advised them further, to get themselves fully and well equipped with determination to overcome every challenges standing on their way and conquer any obstacles obstructing their triumphs while their stay last on the campus.

He encouraged them to see themselves as an embodiment of hope, potential and that of the future of the Country. In his words, he added, “as you take this important step today, I urged you to embrace the opportunities that lies ahead. Higher Education is not merely about acquiring knowledge, instead, it is about developing critical thinking, and fostering innovation and cultivating a sense of responsibility towards your community and the world at large”.

Also, speaking at the Matriculation Ceremony, the State Coordinator of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, in Ekiti State, Mr Olukayode Samuel Dada commended the Management of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti, for setting the pace concerning the numbers of students newly matriculated and admitted into the University today.

He also urged the new students to focus on their purpose on the campus.
