First Private School Of Journalism In Ekiti Hosts Media Executives

The first private School of Journalism in Ekiti State, known as AfricanVoice International Training and Development Academy located on Afao Ekiti road in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital on Wednesday has hosted media professionals and executives in Ekiti State to a new year media get-together treat, and setting targets for the new year 2024.

The Chief Host for the new year get-together event, held together on Rt Honourable Gboyega Aribisogan, who doubles as the founder of the Journalism School in Ekiti State, while speaking at the event, said, “the Journalism School was established to cover the areas of Agriculture, News Journalism, Online Journalism, Short Story Writing, Bookkeeping, Climate Change, Conflict Resolution, freelance and Feature Writing in the year 2024.

He added that the AfricanVoice International School ground located at Afao Road, Elemi, Ado Ekiti was filled with media practitioners such as the elderly, the youth (male and female), both Muslims and Christians danced their hearts out.

Speaking to Treasure Newspaper on the sideline of the celebration, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on New media, Mr Biodun Borisade said the founder of AITDA is also a journalist.

Borisade added that being a journalist, it’s appropriate to appreciate and recognize the effort that he has put into establishing the Academy Complex.

He said, as an Ekiti indigene, I think the most important thing is that we pray that we have more entrepreneurs coming up with such innovation and more concepts, the more of these sort of institutions we have here, the higher the capacity of our journalists in Ekiti State.

Babalola added that the essence of the gathering was to appreciate God for the outgone year and for making them see another year, for the commencement of the Academy session.

Also, Mrs Aribisogan, opined that the occasion would promote unity, love and togetherness amongst Ekiti people, therefore calling on the Ekiti people to sustain the love and peace they are known for.
