From Ijesa-Isu to Abuja: Imole Ekiti Vows to Bring Dividends of Democracy to Ikole, Oye

Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua, popularly known as Imole Ekiti, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1, comprising Ikole and Oye Local Government Areas, on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

David-Adesua made the declaration in a statement addressed to constituents, saying his aspiration was driven by years of inadequate representation at the National Assembly.

In the statement titled “IMOLE DE SI EKITI OKE: The Time for True Representation is Now,” the aspirant said the people of Ikole and Oye have waited too long for the dividends of democracy.

“For too long, the voice of Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 has been lost in Abuja. For too long, our fathers and mothers, our youths and our elders in Ikole and Oye have waited for the true dividends of democracy. Our roads remain in disrepair, jobs are scarce, and our schools and hospitals are yearning for attention,” he said.

He lamented that Ekiti Oke has not enjoyed quality representation, a situation he said is evident in the poor state of development across the communities.

According to him, he chose the NDC because of its people-centred ideology of service.

“Those who know me and have walked with me can attest to one fact: I have always loved to serve. Not for titles, not for self-aggrandizement, but for the benefit of mankind and for the glory of God,” he stated.

David-Adesua disclosed that he has commenced consultations with elders, traditional rulers and chiefs across Ikole and Oye, beginning from Ijesa-Isu Ekiti.

He stressed that the movement is not about party but about the people, noting that his team cuts across political divides.

He assured constituents that he would unveil a detailed development agenda on a weekly basis throughout the campaign period, with focus on issues affecting specific communities.

“I am not coming to represent myself. I am coming to represent YOU – the farmer in Ikole, the trader in Oye-Ekiti, the unemployed graduate, the widow, the student, and the elder with a walking stick,” he said.

He pledged that if elected, he would provide capable and reliable representation to attract meaningful development to the constituency.
