An Ibadan-born entrepreneur and politician, Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi has added more laurels to his feats as he was presented the prestigious, “The Great Mobilizer and Outstanding Quality Leadership Alumnus Award” by a member of the Bayero University, Kano, Alumni Platform.

The honour is in recognition of his leadership role, selfless and sacrificial service to the global alumni platform which he has been piloting its affairs for many years.
The well attended global event also parades a former Governor, a First Lady, Captain of Industries, Senior Civil Servants, Professors, Scholars and Successful Entrepreneurs.
Aare Akinyemi’s leadership pattern laced with sound administrative prowess, interpersonal skills and great celebral instinct accounted for the award he received at the Grand Landmark reunion dinner and award night, held at watercress hotel and event located at No 48 Oritse street, Awolowo way, Ikeja, Lagos.
The entrepreneurial buff is the President, Bayero University Kano, Alumni Platform and the Vice President, Bayero University, Kano, BUKKA and Bayero University, Kano Alumni Platform (BUKAP).

The reunion of member at the venue was part of the activities of the global alumni platform to mark the sixth anniversary of its creation, which in the last six years has done tremendously well in connecting the alumni across the globe and supporting members at various times.
According to the organizers, the platform is set to do more in impacting the lives of members and giving back to the Alma mata and society, Nigeria and in global the community. The event which was covered by different media houses was described as impactful, educative and entertaining.
Earlier in his speech, the President, Bayero University, Kano Alumni Platform, BUKAP, Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi highlighted the various achievements of this global alumni Platform, which its grand reunion was in 2019 at the federal capital territory Abuja, and which was the greatest gathering of BUKAP Alumni in history.

He remarked that the platform has impacted greatly on the members by leveraging on each other’s success and strength to greater heights and supporting members at needs and in critical situation.
The President advised members to give back to their Alma-mater and contribute positively to the society in general.
The event also featured the launch of BUKAP’s endowment fund for members and business owners.

The beautiful educative and interactive gathering had two sessions, morning and evening with two great keynote speakers who took turns to dissect the theme of the BUKAP Landmark Re-union, titled: “The Greatness and Impact Of Alumni Platform On Members, Alma Mater and Society”.
The first keynote speaker was the Managing Partner, David Brown Consulting and the Chairman ICAN Data Faculty and I.T. while the second keynote speaker, Professor Farooq Pekrogi, a teacher of journalism and emerging media at Kennesaw State University, USA, and an influential newspaper columnist spoke on the topic: “The greatness and impact of Alumni platform on Members, Alma-mater and Society,” urging members to impact on the society.
The Vice Chancellor, Bayero University Kano, Professor Sagir Abbas was also honoured with “Great Administrator and Leadership Alumnus Award” while Professor Farooq Pekrogi was given “Great Ambassador Alumnus Award’” to be presented to him anytime he is in the country, while Hon. Maryam Yussuf representing Ilorin South in Kwara State House of Assembly was given, “Great Ambassador Award”.
