The Management of the Joseph Ayodele Babalola University, JABU, located at Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State has now concluded arrangements to hold it’s Institution’s 13th Convocation ceremony.

Disclosing the above at a press conference held on Monday at the main Campus of the Institution at Ikeji Arakeji, the Vice – Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Olasebikan Fakolujo, revealed that the convocation ceremony, slated on the 27th January, 2023, already kickstarted series of activities on Monday (today).
Olasebikan stated that the 13th Convocation Ceremony would see the 481 regular students, 88 post-graduates students and 6 PHD Awardees, with a reunion service on Wednesday, the 25th of January, 2023; a convocation lecture on Thursday, 26th January, 2023 with the theme: “The Challenge of Funding Higher Education in the 21st Century,” to be delivered by Professor A.E. Oluleye and finally the main ceremony on the 27th of January, 2023.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor further revealed the Institution’s intention to confer Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Elder Aderemi Olowookere and Dr. Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi (MFR) with an honorary doctorate degrees on the Convocation day.
According to the Vice Chancellor, he said, “We are bestowing our Honorary Doctorate Degrees on three eminent personalities who have highly distinguished themselves in their respective vocations and service to humanity and they includes: Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (CON), an human right activist, politician and third-term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He listed other awardees to include Elder Aderemi Olowookere, the Chairman Christy Caleb Foundation, a Frontline entrepreneur and an astute philanthropist with a passion for advancing work in Health, Education, and poverty alleviation and Dr. Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi (MFR), the immediate past Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). He is a fulfilled public servant, a serial medalist, and also a philanthropist with a passion for excellence.
The Vice Chancellor added, “that they will be honoured with Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Public Administration and Entrepreneurship (Honoris Causa) respectively. They will be received into the Hall of Alumni of Joseph Ayodele Babalola’s University”, he disclosed.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Olasebikan also highlighted some of the major landmarks recorded by the Institution to include the 3rd best Private University in Nigeria in the last webometric ranking of the Universities and the award won by Dr. L. J. Babalola, the Acting Director, Research and Grant Management Office (RGMO) for the International Foundation for Science (IFS) grant of 11,520 US Dollars meant to support his research work.
