Kiriji War Film: Avoid Unnecessary Litigations, Former Ekiti TAMPAN Governor Counsels Oyebanji

The former Governor of TAMPAN in Ekiti State who also doubled as the Director General, Conference of Bola Ahmed Tinubu National Campaign Organization, Comrade Eniola Ehinafe has Counselled the incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to avoid unnecessary litigations over his decision to finance and sponsor the production of a film on Kiriji War in the State.

The former TAMPAN Governor in Ekiti State and the current DG of Bola Ahmed Tinubu National Campaign Organization, Comrade Eniola Ehinafe made the above call via a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Saturday evening.

Eniola Ehinafe in the statement warned the Commissioner of Arts and Culture in Ekiti State, Professor Ojo Bakare not to push the Ekiti State Government into avoidable litigations over the production of the Epic Film on Kiriji War.

He described both the Kiriji and Ekiti Parapo War film productions as one already in the pipeline, which the copyright had been approved for Mrs Anike Obot long before the budget was approved by the Ekiti State House of Assembly and assented to by Mr Governor.

In a further reaction, Ehinafe reminded that Ekiti Parapo is a collective historical facts staged by Comrade Biodun Abe, Director, National Theatre and factored into Jogunomi film by Madam Anike Obot, a veteran Film Producer.

The duo and the House of Oduduwa shared by Ooni of Ife are major stakeholders and should be properly consulted before production or transmission into Cinema.

Comrade Ehinafe Eniola, former Governor of Tampan in Ekiti State and current National Secretary of Coalition for Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria for Good Governance salute the effort of Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his positive dispositions towards sustainability of the cultural heritage and values of Ekiti State.

“He urged the Governor not to allow himself to be lured into any Production of a film on Ekiti Kiriji War, but rather, set up an Independent Committee for wider consultations and facts findings to avoid unnecessary litigations”, he advised.
