K&TRC, INEC Drive Peaceful Election Push in Ekiti West, Reach 1,600 Residents

In the lead-up to Ekiti State’s June 20, 2026 governorship election, more than 1,600 residents in Ekiti West Local Government have taken part in a voter education and peace advocacy drive spearheaded by Kids & Teens Resource Centre (K&TRC) in partnership with INEC.

The 10-day grassroots campaign spanned Aramoko, Erinjinyan, Erio, Ipole, Okemesi, and Ikogosi. 

Sessions focused on boosting voter turnout, encouraging Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection, promoting peaceful conduct at the polls, and rejecting vote-buying.

A key moment came during a large outreach at Aramoko Market, where over 600 traders, artisans, and community members were sensitized on voting procedures and electoral safety.

The initiative drew backing from traditional rulers, community leaders, and security agencies, all of whom committed to supporting a credible and violence-free election. 

Organizers also held stakeholder forums and aired radio sensitization programs to reinforce calls for peaceful participation.

According to K&TRC, the outreach is part of a broader effort to deepen democratic engagement and ensure a free, fair, and inclusive governorship poll across Ekiti State.
