Lawmakers Commends Irepodun / Ifelodun Council Boss For Achievements In Office

The Executive Chairman of lrepodun/lfelodun Local Government,  Honourable Babalola Ogundana had been commended for his various achievements within his short term in office.

This commendation was made by the State House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Tope Ogunleye on behalf of other members after the presentation of stewardship account of his administration before the House on Friday last week.

Hon. Ogunleye said the Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area is ranked among the best in the area of improvement of there Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) into the coffers of the Local Government through their lofty efforts.

He called on him to encourage the staff to do more on (IGR) generation. He urged others to emulate his efforts in bringing succour to the life of his people.

Earlier the Executive Chairman of lrepodun/ lfelodun Local Government, Hon. Babatola Ogundana had presented his administration stewardship account, where he told the House that his administration had opened up more rural roads while the existing ones were also graded to create enabling environment to farmers in order to bring their farm produce to the markets to reduce wastage of resources. 

He pointed out that, among his achievements in office includes a (4) units VIP toilets renovated at Igede Ekiti at the local government headquarters of Irepodun / Ifelodun Ekiti.

He listed others achievements in office to also include the new car that was purchased for the Executive Chairman and other major repairs that were carried out on some of the official vehicles for easy mobility of some Principal officers of the local government area.  

Also, the reconstruction of some blocked drainages and culverts were also executed by the local government boss to allow for free flow of waters as well as unnecessary flooding.

Equally, as the visionary Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi had urged Council Chairmen to key into his five pillar Agenda of his administration with the aims of eradication of poverty and delivery of the dividends of Democracy to the grassroots levels and to make life much more meaningful for his people.

On security, regular meeting were held with all the Security Agencies in the area and Traditional Rulers to sustain the peaceful co- existence of the people.

Honourable Ogundana also stated further that his administration had concluded plans to raise five thousand oil palm seedings for sales to farmers at a highly subsidized rates to farmers to improve on the Council lGR.

He also informed the House of his administration participating in the Ekiti State Community Development Agency (EkSCDA) developmental projects where some projects were carried out and participation in gender summit that was held recently to curtail molestation of women in society.

He then called for more support and cooperation from his people for the present administration and the newly Elected Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji who will be taking up the mantle of the Leadership of the State by October 16th, 2022.

The Council Boss was accompanied by the Head of the Local Government Administration, Mrs Adenike Bamisile, and other Management Staff of the Local Government.
