NGF Chairman AbdulRazaq Mourns Ex-Kogi Gov Idris, Prays For Al-Jannah Firdaus

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has mourned the passing of former Kogi State Governor, Ibrahim Idris, praying that Almighty Allah admits him to Al-Jannah Firdaus.

Idris, a prominent businessman and elder statesman who served as Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012, died at the age of 77.

In a condolence message issued on Sunday, September 20, 2026, AbdulRazaq expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the former governor, who was noted for significant development strides in the Confluence State.

“We mourn with the family, friends, and associates of His Excellency, the former Governor, but we urge them to find comfort in his fine legacies. We ask Almighty Allah to admit him to Al-Jannah Firdaus,” the NGF stated.

The Forum also extended its condolences to the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, the state government and the people of the state over the sad development.

“We similarly extend our condolences to His Excellency, Governor Usman Ododo, and the Government of Kogi State on the sad development. We hope that they find strength in his many positive impacts on the state,” the statement added.
