The All Progressives Congress candidate for Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1, Air Vice Marshal Rufus Ojuawo (rtd) has again reiterated that education/ leadership training, security and empowerment would be his priorities if emerged victorious at February 25 general elections.
Air Vice Marshal Ojuawo gave the assurance recently during an interview in NTA, Ado Ekiti monitored by Precise News. The House of Representative candidate promised to lobby Rep.members to have leadership training included in schools curriculum so as to prepare the younger ones for leadership. According to Ojuawo,”Our children should be taught leadership education in schools for them to know what leadership entails and by so doing, Nigeria would be a more better country”
Ojuawo, a security expert who have served Nigeria in various capacities in and outside Nigeria while profferring solutions to insecurity, advised that bushes should be thoroughly and constantly combed as well as engage communities to volunteer useful information to the police and sister security agencies to dislodge criminals from their abode. Adding that security council should be put in place in all communities.
He added that he would use his wealth of experience to push for modern equipment for the military, vet their budget, advocate for more better welfare for them and ensure needed equipments are provided, saying he would build and maintain military relationship for the good of the masses.
Ojuawo stressed further that he would empower his constituents to make life more better for them. While explaining how he would do it differently from the previous empowerment politicians have done, he opined that he would push for policies and laws that would make his constituents have access to loans/grants that would better their lives. Saying he would have regular meetings with them to ascertain the most pressing needs before the empowerment.
While talking on Constituency projects, the (MHR) hopeful said he would always carry his constituents along by allowing them sense of ownership so as to sustain and maintain project(s) that would be executed.
He further enjoined politicians to make money available to the masses instead of hoarding it. He said ” Money does not do anything, when you release money it will work and people will make judicious use of it to better their lives thereby reducing poverty in the land”
