Olajengbesi Hails Ajibola Basiru, Says APC National Secretary Is Model of Mature Politics

Human rights lawyer and Managing Partner of Law Corridor, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, has described the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, as a leader to watch in Osun State and Nigeria.

Olajengbesi, in a statement on Monday, said Basiru combines character, political maturity and intellectual depth in a manner that sets him apart in the nation’s political space.

He noted that the APC scribe’s recent visit to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, was a demonstration of politics without bitterness, adding that the move will help ease political conversations around President Bola Tinubu in the state.

According to him, Basiru’s style of politics offers valuable lessons for younger politicians.

“Senator Ajibola Basiru is undoubtedly one leader to watch in Osun State and Nigeria. He combines character, political maturity and intellectual depth in a manner that distinguishes him,” Olajengbesi stated.

“His recent visit to Governor Ademola Adeleke is another demonstration of politics beyond bitterness and, importantly, makes the conversation around President Bola Tinubu in Osun State much easier.

“There is a lot for the younger generation of politicians to learn from his politics, firm in conviction, yet sufficiently mature to build bridges beyond political divides,” he added.

Senator Basiru, a former Attorney General of Osun State and former Senator representing Osun Central, has been a central figure in Osun APC politics ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
