Legal icon and former Nigeria Bar Association National President, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has donated a new Senate Building built by him to the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the Management of the Bamidele Olumilua University Of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti, in Ekiti State.

Olanipekun, a prominent legal luminary in the Country and beyond officially made the transfer and donation on Thursday at the main campus of the State Owned Tertiary Institution located at Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The Ikere Ekiti born lawyer and great philanthropy expressed his fulfillment while giving his speech during the commissioning of the New Senate Building edifice on Thursday.
Olanipekun pointed out, that the project was earlier delayed because of the Ultra Modern Ikere Ekiti High Court project built by him and also donated to the judiciary in Ekiti State earlier in the year.
Giving details of the facilities and how the building was structured, Chief Wole Olanipekun described the facilities provided on the ground floor of the New Senate Building as one that is topnotch and world compliant considering standards and procedures. He urged the people to take note, that the ground floor will house the receptionist, security /check-in, University Consult Office, Alumni Relations Office, Cleaners /Drivers’ Lounge, the two Deputy Vice Chancellor ‘s Offices, Meeting Room, CSO’s Office, Janitors’ Unit, changing room, utility and storage facilities and four offices.
Others sections in the building includes the cleaners, relations office, Cleaners/Drivers’ Lounge, the two Deputy Vice-Chancellors’ Offices, Meeting Room, CSO’s Office, Janitors’ Unit, Changing Room, Utility and Storage Facilities, and four other offices.

Chief Olanipekun further explained that, on the 1st floor includes the Registrar’s Office, the Registry office, three offices for the Bursary unit, as well as the Bursar’s office; the Senate Chambers which is of about 150 capacity, the Senate Ante Room as well as the Utility and Storage facilities.
Speaking further, Chief Olanipekun added that, on the 2nd floor, are the Vice Chancellor’s offices – conference room and that of the office of the Special Adviser to the Vice Chancellor, that of the Chairman of the Governing Council’s Office, Secretary to the Chairman of the Governing Council’s Office, Council Chambers of 150 sitting Capacity, Council Room, Security Post to the Council Chambers/Vice-Chancellor’s Office as well Utility and Storage Facilities rooms.
He thereafter announced a total of 43 restrooms provided in a modern way inside the New Senate Building, with the provision of a good borehole of exactly 12 metres equivalent to 40 feet steel structured borehole water tank, expected to provide about 6,200 litres to help run water into the offices in the New Senate Building.
Adding, Chief Olanipekun made a new promise to donate an hospital building to the people of Ikere Ekiti which he said would be named after his wife.

While addressing the event, the Honourable Minister for Education under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, Dr Tunji Alausa described Chief Wole Olanipekun’s generousity as a remarkable one.
Alausa used the opportunity to call on others well to do in Ekiti State to take a cue from Chief Wole Olanipekun’s humanitarian gestures and his notable contributions to the growth and development of our society.
Addressing the gathering after officially cutting the tape of the New Senate Building at the Bamidele Olumilua University Of Education, Science and Technology; the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, promised to hasten the commencement of a 5km road construction earlier pledged to the Management of the Institution.
Governor Oyebanji also assured the management of the Institution to ensure that all the offices in the New Senate Building would be furnished with furnitures before the end of the year 2024.

He however advised the management, staff and students of the Institution to ensure the facilities and infrastructures already provided in the New Senate Building by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, are well catered for and maintained by them.
Those present at the venue of the Commissioning are the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti Kingdom, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado; the former Governor of Ondo Stare, Dr Olusegun Mimiko; the co-chairman of body of Pro-Chancellors of Universities, Senator Lanre Tejuosho as well as the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Professor Olusola Kolapo Eleka among others.
