Onasanya Bags Honorary Doctorate Degree Award

The former Group Managing Director of First Bank Plc in Nigeria, Mr. Bisi Onasanya has bagged his honorary doctorate degree award at the Federal University, Oye – Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Onasanya was given the honorary award as the first graduating student in Accounting and Real Estate Management at the just concluded convocation at FUOYE held on Saturday in Oye Ekiti.

While expressing his gratitude and how happy he was, Onasanya said that he is happy that he is relevant to the society after seven years of his retirement at the Banking system.

“I thank God that after seven years of my retirement as the Group Managing Director of First Bank, I am still relevant”, he declared.

“We should be able to give back to Society and perform our duty wherever we find ourselves so as to encourage the young ones”.

The former Group Managing Director of First Bank said that he tends to give scholarship to some best students of the Accounting and Real Estate as a means of given back to the society and encouraging the young ones.

Also speaking, Mrs Onasanya, the wife of the awardee showered praises on her husbands as she said, “he is a gentle, energetic man. He deserves it”.

He however implores the graduating students to use what they’ve learnt in the University to proffer solutions to the problems of the society.

He noted that they should use the available resources for the development of the society they live in so that it will be better.
