Oyebanji Names New Government Buildings After Fayemi, Fayose, Segun Oni

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has named newly constructed government buildings after former Governors of the state in honour of their contributions to the state’s development, according to a press release signed on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Olayinka Oyebode.

According to Oyebode, two of the buildings have been named after the immediate past Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and former Governor Ayodele Fayose. The Fayemi building will be commissioned on Friday, July 31, 2026, while the Fayose building is slated for commissioning on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Another building named after former Governor Segun Oni is at an advanced stage of completion and will be commissioned in October, the statement added.

The statement recalled that in October 2024, Governor Oyebanji named the remodelled Presidential Lodge in Ado-Ekiti after the first civilian Governor of the state, Otunba Niyi Adebayo. The facility was commissioned by Adebayo himself as part of activities marking the second anniversary of the Oyebanji administration.

Oyebode disclosed that former Governors Fayemi, Fayose and Oni will serve as Special Guests of Honour and will personally commission the buildings named after them on their respective dates.

He said the commissioning signals the commencement of another phase of project inaugurations by the Oyebanji administration as it rounds off its first term and prepares for a second term inauguration.

The initiative, he noted, underscores the Governor’s commitment to completing and delivering all projects initiated by his administration for public use in line with his Shared Prosperity agenda.
