Oyebanji’s Local Government Headquarters Internal Roads At A Glance

All seems not to be well in Aramoko Ekiti, the headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State considering the worrisome conditions of the State roads across the entire community as shown in the several pictures made public by an indigene, in person of Mr Taju Bamigbola. 

The information in circulation in Ekiti State and beyond saying only the Federal roads in the State are the ones in bad state appears incorrect, despite social media claims.

Recent views from the President of the Aramoko Ekiti Youth Forum, Mr Taju Bamigbola has confirmed the claim with photos evidence that the State Government has failed to fix the State roads in Aramoko Ekiti and other public infrastructures in the Community. 

Speaking, Mr Taju Bamigbola posited that, no doubt, certain roads like the Ado-Igede-Aramoko-Itawure road, are federal roads with appropriations under the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing. 

He however refused to absolve the State Government from taking full responsibilities about the bad conditions of the State roads in Aramoko Ekiti township and other places, and connecting routes within the community, which are clearly under the jurisdiction of the state government.

He also condemned the total neglect of the State roads in Aramoko for many years, without any visible effort to repair or maintain them. 

He also lamented the poor state of infrastructures in the Aramoko Ekiti locality such as rural electrification and water systems.

Adding, Mr Bamigbola said the basic road repairs that ought to be done regularly are glaringly absent in the town, while other areas are allegedly undergoing reconstruction. 

“Beyond roads, the state government has failed to provide basic infrastructure that should benefit Aramoko Ekiti”.  

*Despite repeated calls for intervention, Aramoko Ekiti has not received tangible improvements in areas such as healthcare, education facilities, or tourism development, which are being prioritized in other parts of Ekiti State”.

“I want to assure the youths and residents of Aramoko Ekiti that we will continue to advocate for our rights and development”.

“The deliberate attempt to shift blame to the federal government is unacceptable, and we will not let these distractions deter us”.  

“We have evidence of the poor state of state roads and infrastructure in Aramoko, and we are preparing letters to submit to the appropriate authorities to demand action. If no steps are taken, we are ready to peacefully protest and hold the government accountable for its failure to serve our community”.  

“Bamigbola while advising the public, urged all members to continue posting pictures and videos of the bad roads and infrastructure issues in Aramoko on social media. 

He also advised the people to amplify their voices and ensure the government are made accountable and not ignore the plight of the the people.
