Professor Foluke Dada-Lawanson’s Inspiring Journey As A Legal Expert

Professor Mrs Foluke Dada-Lawanson is a force that is looked up to in Nigeria’s legal landscape.

With an illustrious career spanning over 30 years, she has established herself as a leading expert in human rights, law and technology, gender rights and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Her academic credentials are impressive. She holds a Doctorate of Juridical Science in Health Law and Policy from Loyola University in Chicago, an LL.M from the same institution and an LL.B. (Hons) from the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. She also bagged MCArb.

Her expertise has earned her fellowships with the Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators (FICMC) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

As the former Dean of the College of Law at Caleb University, Lagos, Professor Dada-Lawanson led groundbreaking initiatives, including establishing the Human Rights & Technology Center and securing increase quotas and grants for the Institution. Her leadership and vision have had a lasting impact on the University.

She also made significant contributions to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). She serve as Chairman of the Ado-Ekiti Branch between 2016 and 2018 and the Second Vice President of the NBA between 2018 and 2020.

As a passionate advocate for gender equality and human rights, she founded Tikvah Initiatives for Women & Children, an NGO that provides legal representation for vulnerable groups.

Professor Dada-Lawanson’s vision is to bring transformative leadership to the NBA, leveraging her vast experience to champion inclusivity, professionalism, and innovation within the legal profession.
