Seven New Undergraduate Courses Approved For Bamidele Olumilua  University By NUC

A total of seven new undergraduate degree courses has been formally approved for the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti, BOUESTI, by the National University Commission, NUC. 

According to reports, the National Universities Commission, NUC, in an affirmation revealed that the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, BOUESTI, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session, will commenced the running of the seven new undergraduate degree courses, following a successful resource assessment exercise conducted by the Commission in April, 2025. 

According to a letter dated 28th July, 2025 and signed by the NUC’s Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, the newly approved programmes includes B.Sc. Data Science, B.Sc. Public Relations, B.Sc. Advertising, B.Sc. Broadcasting, B.Sc. Journalism, B.Sc. Brewing Science and B.Sc. Crop Science.

Considering the latest approval, the number of approved academic programmes for BOUESTI is now 85.

The feat was said to have been achieved within just five years of the institution’s establishment. 

The achievement was however described as a remarkable one because 

success underscores the University’s rapid academic expansion, commitment to quality education and responsiveness to the dynamic demands of the 21st-century workforce.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Adeoluwa expressed appreciation to the NUC for its continued support and assured that the University remains steadfast in its vision to be a centre of excellence for teaching, research and community development. 

He also commended the efforts of staff across relevant Schools of Study and Departments for the successful outcome of the resource verification.

The Vice Chancellor was elated that BOUESTI will continue to grow in leaps and bounds, constantly breaking new grounds and shattering glass ceilings in the Nigerian higher education landscape.
