The Sheik Chief Imam of Emure Ekiti,  Abdul Samiu Saka has identified peace and unity as the weapon necessary for the people of Emure Ekiti to continue to live together as one and bring about the socio-economic development in the communities.

Sheik Chief Imam, Abdul Samiu Saka spoke with Treasure Newspaper on Friday during the Special Jumat Service held as part of the celebration for the 2023 Emure Ekiti Day Celebrations, stating that there will be development and progress if people agree to shun any form of acrimony among themselves.

Imam Abdul Samiu Saka while delivering his sermon at the Emure Ekiti Central Mosque on Friday emphasized on the need for the Emure Ekiti Sons and Daughters in the community, and spread all over the world to cooperate among themselves to move their community forward.

The Emure Ekiti Sheik Chief Imam, Abdul Samiu Saka stated that there are other five mosques located at Emure Ekiti and these includes the AUD Central Mosque, the Central Mosque at Eporo Ekiti, the Central Mosque at Owode, the Ansarul Islam Central Mosque also Eporo Ekiti as well as Up-Teome Central Mosque at Emure Ekiti.

Speaking at the Main Emure Ekiti Central Mosque located beside the Elumure’s palace, the Representative of the Kabiyesi Elemure Ekiti during the Special Jumat Service, High Chief Remo Ogunyemi Akinola, congratulated all the sons and daughters of Emure-Ekiti Kingdom for the celebration and counselled the Emure Ekiti people to always learn to give back to their hometown thereby contributing to its growth.

High Chief Ogunyemi speaking further, pleaded with the Emure Ekiti people to play their roles in ensuring there is all round development of the community. “As for me, community development is about trying to make some commitment that the lives of the people and the community cannot be the same. People have their individual lives but a community has its own life as an entity and you don’t talk about a community without talking about its people”, he submitted. 

In another development, during the visit of some members of the Emure Ekiti Rebirth Agenda to the Wife of Kabiyesi Elemure Ekiti, Olori Iyabowale Adebayo, equally spoke with Treasure Newspaper, stating how she has been supporting her husband, the Kabiyesi of Emure Ekiti Kingdom, through her monthly programme where she supports others with stipends for their businesses and also, share foodstuffs to help women and families in Emure Ekiti, most especially widows. 

Speaking on the women in Emure, she thanked them for always supporting her as the Olori of Emure Ekiti Kingdom. She went on to stressed the need for communities to identify and harness their potential to enhance economic growth at the grassroots.

She however used the opportunity to acknowledged that the women of Emure Ekiti Kingdom has been a source of inspiration for her since the inception of her husband on the throne.

She she prayed for more breakthroughs and successes for all the sons and daughter of Emure Ekiti, both at home and in diaspora.
