UNN Pro – Chancellor, Kayode Ojo’s Presence At 54th Convocation Ceremony Ignites Hope In Students, Staff

The presence of the Pro – Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, in Enugu State, Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo over the weekend has ignited great hopes in the minds of students and staff of the Institution, while presiding over the 54th Convocation Ceremony for the first time since he was appointed. 

According to reports, the UNN 54th Convocation Ceremony was held with pomp and splendor, creating another opportunity to confirm the Institution’s position as a beacon of academic excellence and cultural heritage in the Country. 

Presiding over the historic occasion was the distinguished Chairman of the Governing Council, Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire and transform the institution.

The ceremony witnessed the graduation of another generation of bright minds poised to shape Africa and the world.

Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo, in his address, emphasized the critical role UNN plays in nurturing future leaders and advancing knowledge globally, urging graduates to embody the university’s enduring Lion spirit.

A major highlight of the event was Engineer Ojo’s tour of the Institute of African Studies, where he expressed admiration for the rich collection of African monuments, cultural artifacts, and timeless works of art. 

He described the Institute as a testament to Africa’s heritage and a pillar of identity, underscoring the importance of preserving African culture while pursuing global competitiveness.

“UNN’s strides extend beyond academics,” Engr. Ojo stated.

“We are equally committed to sustaining African cultural scholarship and positioning the university as a hub of learning, culture, and global relevance.”
