Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, stated the above while addressing the mammoth crowd who attended his presidential campaign rally which took place in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital on Thursday and held at the popular New Iyin Road Pavilion.
Obi while speaking further, urged the residents of Ekiti State to vote a Presidential Candidate like him who understands the problems of the Country. He lamented how Nigerians are on a daily basis dying of poverty as a result of joblessness and insecurities in the Country.
According to him, he said, “I urged you all, the electorates of Ekiti State to vote for me because I understands the problems of our Country and how to take our people dying out of their poverty. What the people want is somebody who will fight that poverty and I am telling you, we are going to fight poverty”.
“We are also committed to building a better Nigeria if elected President and ensure that a new generation comes into power”, he declared.
He also used his Presidential Campaign Rally in Ado Ekiti to advise and counsel Nigerians who are dying because of their poverty and insecurities in the Country not to trade their future and security by collecting monies to vote in wrong presidential candidates during the forthcoming February 23rd, 2023 presidential election in the Country.
Continuing, Obi said, “if they give you money, take it from them, it is your money but don’t vote for them again”.

Emphasizing, Obi appealed to the electorates in Ekiti State, not to allow those buying votes during election to continue. “They are only making you to suffer and wants to be recycling themselves in power. We don’t want you to leave the Country but to be proud of Nigeria”, he stressed.
He however urged his supporters in the State to go out and canvass votes for him so that they can also go out on the election day to vote for him as their next President.
He apologized to his supporters who had waited for long hours for arriving late. He adduced his lateness due to the bad weather which forced them to wait for several hours before they were able to land in Akure and travel by road to Ado Ekiti for the campaign.

He also expressed his readiness to ensure the Country is secured and unite as one if he is elected as the President come February 23, 2023.
“Today, people are hungry, because there are no jobs. They don’t know what to do. Our youths don’t have job. Our youths are not doing anything. What we want to do is to ensure that we moved the Country from consumption to production”.
“If we start producing something in this Country. All of you will have jobs. If we start producing something, our youths will have jobs. We will be able to export. When we export, our Naira to Dollar will become low”.
