The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering the youth and ensuring a safe, prosperous future for all citizens.

Speaking at an interactive session with youth groups in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa described young people as vital to the state’s development and transformation.

According to the press statement released by the Chief Press secretary to the Governor of the State, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Governor outlined his administration’s 7-point developmental agenda, “Our Ease”, which includes Security and Order by working closely with security agencies to rid the state of criminal elements, Rural and Urban Development Implementing initiatives to improve infrastructure and promote economic growth.

We also have others like Technological Advancement, enhancing skills development and entrepreneurship, Improving healthcare services and facilities.

Also, Investing in power and infrastructure development, Implementing initiatives such as payment of WAEC and NABTEB fees, scholarships, and recruitment of teachers.

Aiyedatiwa also stated existing initiatives which includes, the Nano Grants for providing business support to 5,000 youths, Public Workforce Programmes which involves engaging 15,000 young people in labour-intensive projects, establishing centres across the state under the One-Youth-One-Skill Scheme.

The Governor also assured that his administration is committed to ensuring peace and security in the State, urging youths to take advantage of government policies and programs and stay away from actions that could derail development.

Stakeholders from the three Senatorial districts commended the Governor for his youth-friendly policies and commitment to youth welfare, urging him to do more to give young people a sense of belonging.

The Commander of the South West Security Agency (Amotekun), Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, briefed the gathering on the agency’s efforts to combat security challenges in the state, calling for collective action to address security issues.
