2027: ADC Will Win Senate, Reps, Assembly Seats in Ekiti – Omolayo

ADO-EKITI – The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ekiti State, Hon. Ilesanmi Omolayo, has expressed confidence that the party will produce Senators, House of Representatives members and State House of Assembly members in the 2027 general elections.

Omolayo stated this on Monday at the party’s State Secretariat along old Iyin-Ekiti road, Ado-Ekiti, during a strategic stakeholders meeting with members of the State Working Committee, Local Government Chairmen, Youth Leaders, Women Leaders and other party leaders.

The Chairman said the meeting was aimed at repositioning and refocusing the party ahead of the polls, noting that the ADC remains one united family in the state.

He maintained that there is no faction in the party at both the state and national levels.

“ADC is one. We don’t have any faction in Ekiti State, we don’t have A or B. We should continue to work together as one family,” he said.

According to him, despite the challenges the party has faced, public confidence in the ADC remains strong.

“Our party has gone through challenges and lessons. But one thing remains constant – the people still believe in us. Today’s meeting is about two things: repositioning, and seem to how we strengthen our wards and mobilize our grassroots, and refocusing on our goals ahead,” he added.

Omolayo urged members to place party interest above personal interest and to avoid divisive tendencies, rumour-mongering and anti-party activities.

He directed all candidates of the party to return to the grassroots, constitute their campaign committees and submit their campaign itinerary to the State Organizing Secretary for onward transmission to INEC.

Describing women and youths as the engine room of the party, he assured them of greater inclusion and called on elders to continue to provide wisdom and guidance. He also directed all party organs to commence mobilization activities in their various domains.

The Chairman commended the national leadership of the party led by Senator David Mark and the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for providing effective leadership and stability.

Adding, the Ekiti State African Democratic Congress Chairman, Mr Omolayo Ilesanmi in his address at the meeting equally acknowledged and commended the efforts of the former Deputy Governor and leader of the ADC in Ekiti State, Professor Olusola Eleka for ensuring the party still stands and progressing in the State despite all efforts to destroy it.

He used the opportunity to seek for the continuous support, encouragement and regular interventions of Professor Eleka to stabilize things in the party.

He assured members that his leadership would be fair, transparent and inclusive.

“We want to tell the whole world that ADC in Ekiti State is still alive. In the coming general elections, you will be surprised. We will produce a Senator, House of Representatives members and House of Assembly members. We are going to deliver good results for our presidential candidate,” Omolayo declared.
