The residents of Edo State living in Ekiti State has honoured the Honourable Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo with Award of Cultural Excellence.

who hails from the South South State with and who is currently heading the Police Command in Ekiti.

Welcoming members of the Edo State Welfare Association to the reception and cultural award ceremony recently  organized in honour of the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Mr Joseph Eribo, the Chairman of the body, Prince Osasere Iyi Ihevba, described the decision to form the Association as one expected to unite and bring together all Edo State citizens resident in the State.

Osasere revealed further that the Association’s desire is to see it expand to accommodate all legitimate sons and daughters of Edo State across the length and breadth of Ekiti State. He also called on others who are yet to be associated with the Edo State Welfare Association and living in Ekiti to do so. 

The Chairman of the Edo State Welfare Association, Prince Osasere however called on all the Edo State citizens in Ekiti State to all come out to associate with their State body.

He used the opportunity to seek for the recognition of the Edo State Welfare Association by the Ekiti State Government as a cultural association existing in the State. 

Osasere also used the opportunity to announce an upcoming event tagged “Edo Cultural Day”, which would be used to formally launch the Association in Ekiti State.

In his own remarks at the event, the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Mr Joseph Eribo, appreciated the honour bestowed on him by his Edo State residents in the State, saying the honour is a call on him for more work. 

Adding, CP Joseph Eribo said, “it’s also a  call on him to do more by continuing to be identified wherever he finds himself, either in the West, North, East or South, pointing out that home would continue to be the best”.

He assured the Edo State Welfare Association that he will continue to do well anywhere he finds himself. 

He however emphasized on the need for them to always be peace abiding, united and avoid trouble or anything that will tarnish their image or cause them a public disgrace while carrying out their businesses in Ekiti State.

He also called on them to cooperate and support him as Police Commissioner in the fight against crime and criminality.

Some of the dignitaries present at the event included: Engineer Adeitan Ayodele, President, Inland Club, Ado- Ekiti and Mrs Lilly Abieyuwa Okpoko, Wife of the CMD, Supreme Faith Hospital, Ado-Ekiti who was the Special Guest.
