Police Arrests Total Of 3,490 Criminals In 2025 – Ekiti CP, Joseph Eribo

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Joseph Eribo has revealed that a total of 3,490 criminals were arrested and prosecuted in the year 2025.

CP Joseph Eribo gave the statistics on Tuesday at the Police Officers Mess during a meeting with journalists in Ekiti State while reviewing the activities and the achievements of the Command for the year 2025. 

He used the opportunity to acknowledge the role of the media as one that cannot be played with or under- estimated in our society. 

He commended the positive and friendly disposition of the journalists in Ekiti State with his Police Command, noting Ekiti as the most peaceful State in Nigeria.  

He equally acknowledged the cooperation and support received from his officers in the State in 2025 as well as from the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the Inspectoral General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun. 

He described the Ekiti State Police Command under his leadership as one on top of the game, most especially in the management of the security situations of the State, not minding witnessing different crimes like rape, kidnapping, armed robbery and murder among many others.

He assured Ekiti residents to remain confident in his leadership and in his ability to manage the security situations of things in 2026 in Ekiti State.

He promised that, in 2026, the Ekiti police command will continue to improve on the patrol, stop and search operations across the State to continue to reduce the crime rates. 

Ho equally pledged to deploy more technology equipments to tackle crime headlong in the State in year 2026. “My Command will continue to engage in bush combing mostly especially across the Ekiti/Ondo/Kwara/Kogi borders.

He also pledged to also continue to partner with Ekiti Amotekun, Agro Marshall and Ekiti Peace Corps to fight crimes in the State.

He however warn police officers in Ekiti State to shun corruption in the new year 2026.

Responding, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, extolled the virtues of the CP Joseph Eribo, assuring him that Journalists in Ekiti State will continue to be in good terms with them. 

In the same vein, the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Joseph Eribo, while decorating four recently promoted  police officers, urged them to keep

to the dictates of their jobs and that of the Nigeria Police Force.

The lists of the newly promoted police officers from Superintendent of Police, SP to Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP includes CSP Adeniran Akinwumi, CSP Ofanson Vincent, CSP Ogunleye Kehinde and CSP Falade Sesan Reuben.
