Olive Grange Foundation Commissions 3rd Clean Water Project in Ekiti

… Completes 3-Year School Intervention

IKERE-EKITI — The Olive Grange Foundation has commissioned a new clean water facility at St. Joseph CAC School, Ikere-Ekiti, completing a three-year water intervention across three schools in Ekiti State.

The Foundation’s school-based water programme began in 2024 with the commissioning of a facility at Baptist School, Igede-Ekiti, followed in 2025 by St. John Anglican Nursery and Primary School, Ise-Ekiti. The latest project in Ikere-Ekiti marks the third and final phase of the current cycle.

Commissioning the facility, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Dr. Aderonke Osungborun, said access to safe water remains central to community development.

“Access to clean and safe water is essential to good health, education, and a better quality of life,” Dr. Osungborun said. “It is our hope that this project will benefit not only the pupils and staff of this school but also the wider community for many years to come. We will continue to do much more in Ekiti and its environs. Special thanks to our donors who have contributed immensely to the completion of this project.”

The intervention has drawn commendation from civil society actors. The Chairperson of the Coalition of Ekiti Civil Society Organisations, COECSO, Comrade Timothy Olasunkani Idowu, described the projects as critical grassroots support that complements government efforts to close infrastructure gaps in underserved communities.

For pupils of the beneficiary school, the impact is immediate and personal. The head girl of St. Joseph CAC School, speaking on behalf of her fellow pupils, said:

“Our school now has beautiful and clean water. We like the color, and it has many openings so that many pupils can fetch water from the taps at the same time. God bless Olive Grange!”

The Olive Grange Foundation said it remains committed to expanding its humanitarian work across Ekiti State, with a focus on delivering sustainable access to safe drinking water for more schools and vulnerable communities.
