FUOYE Getting Set To Hold 7th Convocation Ceremony / Investiture Of A New Chancellor

The Federal University of Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, is getting set to hold it’s 7th Convocation Ceremony and the Investiture of a new Chancellor for the Federal Institution located in Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State for a period of seven (7) days.

Following the highlights of the 7th Convocation Ceremony sent to the Treasure Newspaper by the Institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, he revealed that, “the activities for the 7th Convocation of the Institution will start on Monday, the 6th of February, 2023 with the Vice Chancellor’s Press Conference by 10:00am in the morning of the first day.

On the 2nd day, which is Tuesday, the 7th of February, 2023; Ogunmodede said “the Vice Chancellor’s opening of the Oye Community Free Health Care Services will hold by 10:00am. By between 12:00noon to 3:000pm of the same day, the commissioning of projects in Oye Ekiti campus will hold while by 2pm, the 8th Inaugural Lecture of the Institution will take place and Professor Abiodun Ajiboye, the Dean, Faculty of Science of the Institution will be the guest lecturer”. 

Ogunmodede explained further that, on Wednesday, the 3rd day, the 8th of February, 2023; there will be the Vice Chancellor’s opening of the Ikole Community Free Health Care Services by 10:00am and followed by the Induction of the Engineering Graduates into the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) by 12:00noon to 2:00pm where the His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the current Executive Governor of Oyo State will be the Guest Lecturer.

Also, on the same day, the commissioning of the projects in Ikole and Ire Ekiti Campuses will hold by between 2:00pm to 4pm.

By Thursday, the 9th of February, 2023, which is the 4th day, the Convocation Lecture of the Institution will hold by between 10:00am to 1:00pm and would be delivered by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN. 

On the same day, a Command Performance by the Theatre and Media Arts Students of FUOYE will take place from 2:00pm to 4:00pm while the Convocation Cocktail will also hold from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Continuing, for the 5th day, on Friday, the 10th of February, 2023; Ogunmodede revealed that, the Vice Chancellor’s Merit Award to Professionals and Deserving Staff Members from 10:00am to 1:00pm will take place while also, by 1:00pm, a Jumat Service will hold.

“On Saturday, the 11th of February, 2023; the Grand finale of the 7 days events;  which is the 6th day, will have the 7th Convocation, Investiture and Conferment of Honorary Doctoral Degrees to be anchored by the Chancellor of the Institution, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Matthew Opaluwa Oguche, Ata Igala, where Award of Degrees and that of Doctoral Honoris Causa will hold”.

Ogunmodede however listed those to be honoured with Honorary Doctoral Degrees to include Mallam Kabiru Yusuf, the Chairman and Publisher’s of Trust News; Mr. Steven Olabisi Onasanya, former MD, First Bank Plc; Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN and Chief Segun Odegbami, the former Super Eagles Footballer. 

On the same day, Ogunmodede added that, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osibajo, SAN, GCON, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will be on ground to speak during the University’s Founders Day.

Meanwhile on Sunday, the 12th of February, 2023; the 7th day, and the last day, there would be a Church Thanksgiving Service from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
