In a bid to further stabilize the security architecture within Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Kolo Yusuf, has embarked on a 24-hour surveillance activities within Talata, Mafara and Sokoto highway all within Gusau metropolis.
In a release from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Zamfara Command, Mr. Mohammed Shehu, a Superintendent of Police (SP) said “the surveillance activities led by the CP would patrol the entire 100km of the popular Gusau-Talata Mafara-Sokoto Federal highway for on the spot assessment.
He explained that the CP during the patrol exercise, would personally supervised the operational capacity of Police Tactical/Conventional operatives deployed to ensure the safety of commuters along the route.

Shehu explained that the patrol exercise would afford the CP to mapped out some salient and strategic points along the highway which would be fortified with the deployment of operatives from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and conventional Police operatives.
“During the patrol, the CP visited joint operatives of Operation “Hadarin Daji” nipping point at opposite Zamfara State College of Education Maru, where he charged the personnel to be security conscious of themselves and the community they are protecting.
“The Commissioner used the opportunity and paid a courtesy visit on His Royal Highness the Emir of Mafara, Alhaji Dr. Bello Mohammed Barmo at his Palace in Talata Mafara.

The CP equally assured the Emir that with the ongoing commitment and determination of the Police and other security agencies in the State, normalcy would be restored across the State.
He tasked members of the public on active intelligence sharing with Law Enforcement Agencies for effective policing of all spaces.
The Commissioner of Police while returning back to Gusau, branched at 207 Quick Response Group, Nigerian Air Force Base, where the CP visited the Commander Mr. D M Komo and solicited for harmonious working synergy among the security operatives for effective service delivery.
