BOUESTI Celebrates 1st Convocation Ceremony As Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, VC Deliver Inspiring Speeches

Saturday, March 8, 2025, will go down in history as a remarkable day for Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI) as the institution held its maiden convocation ceremony.

The Institution produced 1,109 graduates, which consists of 172 of the College of Education, 392 of the College of Science, 499 of the College of Social and Management Sciences and 46 of College of Technology.

However, in summation to the classes of degrees, 37 in First Class, 426 Second Class Upper Division graduates, 586 Second Class Lower Division and 60 Third Class graduates.

The event, which took place at the university’s campus, was attended by dignitaries, including the Chancellor, Chief Wole Olanipekun, CFR, SAN; the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina; and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa.

In his address, Chancellor Wole Olanipekun reflected on the university’s journey, from its humble beginnings as a college of education to its current status as a full-fledged university.

He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in education and urged the graduands to apply the skills and values gained at BOUESTI to make a meaningful impact on society.

Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, highlighted the university’s achievements, including its ranking as the best university of education in Sub-Saharan Africa.

He also acknowledged the challenges faced by the institution and called on stakeholders to support BOUESTI’s growth and development.

In his speech, Vice-Chancellor Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa congratulated the graduands and thanked the parents, staff, and stakeholders for their contributions to the university’s success.

He also highlighted BOUESTI’s commitment to vocational and entrepreneurial education, as well as its efforts to collaborate with international institutions.

The ceremony also featured the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees on four distinguished Nigerians, including His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu Alagbado, Agirilala II; His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, Governor of Enugu State; Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, CON; and Dr. Tunji Olowolafe.

The event was a celebration of academic excellence, perseverance, and community spirit, marking a significant milestone in BOUESTI’s history. As the university continues to grow and evolve, it is clear that its commitment to education, innovation, and community development will remain at the forefront of its mission.
