ADC Accuses APC of PVC Harvesting, Fake Amotekun Plot Ahead Ekiti 2026 Poll

The Ambassador Dare Bejide Campaign Organisation (ADBCO), has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of orchestrating a multi-pronged scheme to manipulate the upcoming June 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.

Speaking at a press briefing, Rt. Hon. Olugboyega Aribisogan, Director of Communications, Media and Publicity for the ADBCO, alleged “illegal, violent, and anti-democratic” tactics by APC operatives across the state. 

Aribisogan while addressing the press at the Ambassador Dare Bejide Campaign Organisation office located in Ajilosun, Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital allegedly accused the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State of Illegal collection of PVCs and NINs.

Aribisogan claimed the APC agents are going door-to-door in several LGAs demanding voters’ Permanent Voter Cards and National Identification Numbers in exchange for cash, food, or “welfare support.” 

He described the practice as a violation of Section 121 of the Electoral Act 2022, warning it could enable disenfranchisement, thumb-printing, and multiple voting. “Your PVC is your power. Once you give it out, you give up your voice,” he said.

During the questions and answer time, Aribisogan cited incidents in Kole Constituency I, his hometown, and Ado Ekiti. He recounted a confrontation where a resident allegedly refused to hand over her PVC to APC agents, saying she already had a candidate. The exchange, he said, sparked a fracas that confirmed similar reports from other wards in recent weeks.

Aribisogan also alleged the All Progressives Congress of sponsoring fake Amotekun uniforms for election violence. According to him, he alleged that the Dare Bejide Campaign Organisation has “credible intelligence and video evidence” of thugs being kitted in counterfeit Amotekun Security Network uniforms.

The individuals are allegedly being trained to intimidate voters, snatch ballot boxes, and attack polling agents on election day.  

Aribisogan called on the Amotekun Corps Commander and the Police to arrest anyone wearing Amotekun uniforms without authorization, saying impersonation would “confuse voters and discredit a regional security outfit that Ekiti people trust.”

The ADBCO said there has been an increase in the numbers of “illegal arrests” of opposition leaders, campaign coordinators, and youth mobilisers in the last three weeks. 

The arrests, he claimed, are made without warrants or access to lawyers, with detainees held on “Form K” remand orders to keep them out of circulation until after the election. Aribisogan called it “political persecution” and a violation of Sections 35 and 36 of the 1999 Constitution.

The party also accused the APC and PDP of circulating AI-manipulated photos and videos on social media. One example cited was a doctored image showing ADC’s candidate shaking hands with PDP’s Dr. Oluwole Oluyede. 

He described the “Manipulation of photographs as a criminal offence”.

Aribisogan however used the opportunity to demand that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should publicly warn against PVC/NIN harvesting and deploy monitoring teams to flashpoints.

He also asked for the arrest of anyone who impersonated the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps and the release of opposition members detained without due process. 

He called on the Inspector General of Police to direct the Ekiti CP to guarantee neutrality before and during the June 20th, 2026 governorship in Ekiti State.

He also called on the media to investigate the allegations and protect whistleblowers. 

Aribisogan said the campaign has compiled names of individuals allegedly recruited for election-day disruption and of politicians slated for arrest, promising to release them “at the appropriate time.”

“We are not just on the street. We know their antics,” he said. “The world must know. Democracy must be protected.”

He urged Ekiti voters not to surrender their PVCs or NINs and to the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State and come out on the election day to vote and protect their votes.

Several calls put across to the Ekiti State Commandant for the Amotekun Corps, Brigadier Ibukun Olu Adewa; the State Public Relations Officer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mr Segun Dipe as well as the Director, Media and Communications, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji Campaign Organisation, Rt Honourable Taiwo Olatunbosun to get their official reactions to the issues raised were futile as at the time of filing this report.
