In a personally signed statement, Olajengbesi called on supporters across Ijesa North to attend what he described as a “historic gathering” that will also serve as the inauguration of the Ijesa North 10,000 Canvassers for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“The people of Ijesa North are rising,” Olajengbesi said. “From our towns and villages to sons and daughters across the world, a clear message is echoing: the will of the people must stand above the ambition of any individual or self-appointed political gatekeeper.”

He framed the June 10 declaration as a collective push to “take back the voice, the mandate, and the future of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.”

“This movement is bigger than politics or party lines,” he added. “It is about returning power to the people, rebuilding trust in representation, and creating an Obokun/Oriade where every citizen counts and every voice matters.”

Olajengbesi, a human rights lawyer and convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network, is seeking to unseat Wole Oke, who has represented the constituency since 2003.

The Accord Party candidate said he chose to make his declaration during the Adeleke canvassers’ inauguration to signal alignment with Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship poll.

He urged “fathers, mothers, youths, and friends of Ijesa North” to converge on Ijebu-Jesa for the event to collectively make history,” he said.
