The Golden Crest Royal Academy, located in ACO Estate, AMAC Phase 2, Road B, recently held its graduation ceremony at the DRACC Guest House Hall, honoring the exceptional achievements of its students and staff.

The event, which drew considerable attention, marked a significant milestone in the school’s history.

Dr. Mrs. Unenwojo Sarah Edah, the school’s proprietress, spoke to journalists, reflecting on the academy’s journey since its inception on October 10, 2011. “Starting as a creche with just one child, the school has grown through various stages, becoming a nursery in 2013, a primary school in 2014, a junior secondary in 2017, and finally, a senior secondary school in 2019”. 

This year, The Golden Crest Royal Academy proudly celebrated the graduation of its 4th set of WAEC students, who have now progressed to higher institutions both locally and internationally.

The academy, which comprises a range of classes from creche to SS 3, currently educates students with the support of dedicated staff members. Dr. Edah expressed her joy in providing employment opportunities for young Nigerian graduates and emphasized the importance of mandatory educational qualifications for school staff, as required by the Federal Ministry of Education.

A cornerstone of The Golden Crest’s Royal Academy success has been its commitment to continuous training for teachers, non-academic staff, security personnel, caregivers, and janitors. This dedication ensures optimal performance and a nurturing environment for the students.

Edah attributed the vision for The Golden Crest Royal Academy to a divine calling, viewing the school as a ministry rather than a profit-driven enterprise. The school’s mission is to advance the Kingdom of God through education, instilling spiritual, academic, and moral excellence in its students, in line with its motto, “Excellence By The Spirit.”

The graduation ceremony highlighted several outstanding achievements. Dan Adaolan was recognized as the best graduating student and most outstanding overall, having excelled in various competitions, including a national spelling bee. 

The event saw the distribution of 572 awards to students and staff, with special acknowledgments from the non-governmental organization St. Philomena Foundation.

Looking ahead, the school announced its upcoming summer program, “A Better Summer To Remember,” set to run from August 5 to August 30, 2024. The program will feature activities such as entrepreneurship, robotics, data processing, and coding, designed to enrich the students’ skills and ensure they return for the new school year ready to excel.

The Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Dr. Kasumanwuna Anthony, shared his achievements during his first term, including the establishment of science laboratories and securing WAEC and NECO accreditation for the school. 

He also revealed the acquisition of a permanent site for the academy, complete with a borehole and security house funded by the PTA.

Dr. Anthony praised the school’s management for their improvements in event organization and urged continued collaboration between parents, teachers, and staff to maintain the school’s high standards.

He encouraged teachers to view their roles as investments in the future, focusing on long-term impacts rather than immediate gains.
