CP Ojajuni Visits Alake of Egbaland, Seeks Stronger Traditional Alliance for Security

ABEOKUTA – The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has paid homage to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, CFR, at his palace in Abeokuta on Thursday. 

CP Ojajuni, who was accompanied by members of his management team, said the visit was part of efforts to deepen community policing through strategic engagement with traditional institutions.

The police boss and his team were received by the Alake in the presence of the Olu of Itori Land, Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, Egba General Chiefs and other prominent sons and daughters of Egbaland.

The visit provided an opportunity for discussions on current security challenges, community policing strategies, and the critical role of traditional rulers in sustaining peace and socio-economic development in Ogun State.

In his address, CP Ojajuni thanked the Alake for his fatherly leadership and commitment to peace, unity and progress in the state. 

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working closely with the traditional institution to promote intelligence-led policing and strengthen trust between the police and the people.

The Commissioner also commended Egbas in the Diaspora for their continued support, engagement and contributions to security initiatives in the state.

Responding, Oba Gbadebo welcomed the Commissioner and described the visit as a mark of respect for the traditional institution and a reaffirmation of the partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the people of Egbaland.

The monarch praised CP Ojajuni for the operational successes recorded since he assumed office, particularly Operation KOSAYE, which he said has boosted public confidence and improved security of lives and property across Ogun State.
