DIG Mustapha, AIG Ogunlowo Arrive Ekiti to Lead Election Security Operations

The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the arrival of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Olarenwaju Ogunlowo, to lead security operations ahead of the upcoming governorship election holding tomorrow Saturday, June 20, 2026.

As revealed by SP Abutu Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Command, said, “the senior officers were deployed by the Inspector-General of Police to oversee and coordinate all security arrangements to ensure a peaceful, credible, and violence-free election in the State”.

While addressing officers and other security stakeholders in Ado-Ekiti, DIG Mustapha stressed the need for strong synergy, collaboration, and mutual support among all security agencies participating in the exercise. 

He directed personnel to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and respect for the rule of law throughout the electoral process.

The DIG also appealed to members of the public, political actors, and stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies, obey the law, and help foster a peaceful atmosphere before, during, and after the polls.

He reassured residents that the Nigeria Police Force, working with sister security agencies, has made robust arrangements, including massive deployment of personnel and logistics, to guarantee the safety of voters, electoral officials, and election materials.
