“Don’t Sell Your Future” — PRP Guber Hopeful Warns Against Vote Buying in Ekiti

“Don’t Sell Your Future” — that was the warning from Ayodele Olaniyi Praise, governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, in Ekiti State, as he declared confidence of victory in the June 20 governorship election.
He spoke during a Peace Accord signing in Ado-Ekiti, where candidates and stakeholders pledged to ensure a violence-free process before, during, and after the poll.
According to Praise, his bid is anchored on public trust and a plan to deliver accountable governance to Ekiti residents. He urged registered voters to turn out in large numbers on election day and cast their ballots without fear or pressure.
The PRP flag bearer condemned vote buying and selling, calling it a betrayal of the people’s collective future. “Trading your vote denies you the dividends of democracy and quality leadership you deserve,” he said.
Praise advised the electorate to prioritize competence, integrity, and a proven track record over personality or popularity when choosing the next governor. He noted that issue-based voting is key to meaningful development.
He commended Ekiti’s history of relative peace and called on all political actors, security agencies, and the electoral umpire to protect that stability. He also asked voters to support the PRP, identified by its padlock symbol, saying the party is poised to reposition governance in the state.
He concluded by stressing the need for fairness and transparency throughout the process, adding that a credible election would deepen democracy in Ekiti State.
