FCE Ilawe-Ekiti Partners Ekiti Police Command to Strengthen Campus Security

The Management of the Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, has pledged to strengthen its collaboration with the Ekiti State Police Command to enhance security and institutional development.

The commitment was made during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, CP Michael Falade, at the Police Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.

The delegation was led by the Provost of the College, Dr. Smart Odunayo Olugbeko, and included the Registrar, Dr. Khadijah Wuraola Garba, and the College Librarian, Dr. Abdulmumin Isah. The team was formally introduced by the College Public Relations Officer, Miss Temilola Mercy Ajide.

In his remarks, Dr. Olugbeko thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception, noting that the visit was aimed at building a cordial relationship and fostering strategic collaboration between the College and the Nigeria Police Force.

He described FCE Ilawe-Ekiti as a fast-growing teacher-training institution with a mandate to deliver quality teacher education and drive human capital development in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.

The Provost further disclosed that the College has transitioned to a degree-awarding institution and will be expanding its academic programmes from 12 to 25 by November this year.

Responding, CP Falade, who received the delegation alongside senior officers of the Command, commended the Management for the visit and assured them of the Command’s full support for the safety, stability and growth of the institution.

He pledged a smooth and sustained working relationship and promised to pay a return visit to the College soon.

Earlier, the Registrar, Dr. Garba, gave a brief historical background of the College.
