‘He Never Abandoned Us’: Ikole APC Backs Bimbo Daramola Ahead Of Primary

Ikole Ekiti came to a standstill as residents and All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters flooded the streets to receive Hon. Bimbo Daramola during his ward-to-ward campaign tour ahead of the party’s primary election, with assurances to back him during the primary election.

The Ire Ekiti-born politician’s visit to all twelve wards in Ikole Ekiti turned the event to a carnivalkm atmosphere, with business activities paused as crowds danced, sang, and chanted in support of his re-election bid.

Party loyalists who spoke with reporters credited their endorsement to Daramola’s performance during his tenure eleven years ago, highlighting that he stayed connected to the constituency even after leaving office. 

“Oye/Ikole deserves more than what we are getting. We need a vibrant representative who can leverage his connections, goodwill, and experience to bring development to this constituency,” one supporter said.

Local APC leaders praised Daramola as a loyal party man and team player, recalling the risks he took to help the APC secure power in the past. They argued it was time for the party to reciprocate that support.

Visibly moved by the reception, Daramola thanked the crowd and pledged to justify their confidence if returned to office. 

He also sensitized residents on the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, calling for a massive turnout in the June election to re-elect Governor Oyebanji.

Daramola urged Oye and Ikole constituents to deliver a substantial portion of the 500,000 votes targeted by the campaign council, adding that the same mobilization should be extended to the presidential election.
