The Ondo State Police Command has foiled a kidnap attempt, rescued a victim, and arrested one suspect following a swift and coordinated operation in Akure, the state capital.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the incident occurred on Tuesday along the Oba-Ile axis, where operatives on routine patrol responded to credible intelligence about a distress situation involving a passenger shouting for help from a moving vehicle.

Police operatives immediately launched a pursuit of the suspected vehicle, during which the suspects reportedly pushed the victim, identified as Kayode Alaba, out of the car in an attempt to escape. The police, however, sustained the chase and successfully apprehended one suspect, Adegbenro Adeola, while others fled the scene. The vehicle used in the operation was also recovered.
