Others who also joined Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi in addressing the press conference are Barrister Gbenga Babawibe and Mrs Motunde Fajuyi.
The Iyin Ekiti woman born Political Activist also drew the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the self – appointed few cabals who have imposed themselves on the entire State, thereby mortgaging the affairs of the State since it’s creation 29 years ago.
Addressing a press conference ‘on the state of Ekiti and the way forward’ at Dalice Hotel in Abuja on Wednesday, Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi send her strong message to the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to continue entrusting the affairs of Ekiti State to those sabotaging his efforts in the State, most especially as the 2027 presidential elections draws nearer.
Emphasising her stand to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Ekiti matter, Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, pleaded with Nigeria’s President not to remain silence, saying, “silence is no longer an option, where truth must rise, and where courage must stand in the face of long -standing suppression.

According to her, she said, “I have offered myself to speak up, not as a politician desperate for relevance, but as a daughter, and a mother; a voice of conscience for a people who have endured far too much under a government that has given them far too little.
Thanking President Tinubu, she expressed her gratitude to him, for his efforts to uplift the entire country from its current stage to an enviable height.
Adding, she specifically praised President Tinubu for his strategic and economic reforms and support given to states such as Ekiti, describing his intentions, noble, and his footprints, visible.

Abimbola decried the level of poverty in Ekiti State, most especially among the youths, despite the massive Federal allocations released by President Tinubu to the State under the current leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Abimbola went further to query, what Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has been doing with the funds.
Pointing out, Abimbola said, “under the watch of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the state has degenerated. Roads are in ruin. Schools are collapsing. Hospitals are without beds or medicine. Youths roam without hope. Civil servants are overburdened and underpaid. Contracts are awarded without transparency. And the worst part? All of this is veiled with a media-fueled illusion of performance.

Continuing, she added, “expressing her worry why Governor Oyebanji has chosen to make it a full time job to junket across Nigeria, lobbying leaders and trying to win political sympathies, not for the people of Ekiti, but for himself.
“While our people suffer, he spends Ekiti’s money on political self-preservation, these wouldn’t have even mattered if he bothered providing basic amenities, infrastructure or be concerned with the welfare of the citizens of Ekiti”, she retorted.
“She called on the Ekiti people to rise up, and end the era of cabal that has ruled the State since its creation, holding onto it by the throat, and rotating power among themselves, empowering only their children, and leaving the masses in despair, thereby resulting in 29 years of recycled failure.

“She also queried, why a State like Ekiti, blessed with intelligent, hardworking, and resourceful people found itself in the hands of a few whose only vision is looting and lying.
She however reminded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of how much he is loved by the people of the State, who supported him in 2023, and who will continue to support him, pleading with him to dismantle the structure of sabotage that has stunted the Ekiti growth.
She also pleaded with President Tinubu to support the liberation of Ekiti from the grip of the current political saboteurs holding the people of the State to ransom.

She used the opportunity to assure the President of the overwhelming love and support of Ekiti people for him by voting him en masse and willingly.
She also reminded the Ekiti people that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has received a whooping sum of N350 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) since assuming office in 2022 without any projects on ground commesurating with it.
She described Oyebanji’s administration as a no governance, an organized failure and an institutional sabotage against the collective destiny of the Ekiti people.

While President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working hard to put Nigeria on a path of economic growth and renewed hope, Ekiti is being dragged backwards by a leadership that lacks vision and accountability.
Calling on the President, Abimbola equally pleaded with him not to reward failure in Ekiti State, or allow those sabotaging his efforts to continue to reign. But rather, support the movement to truly liberate the people of the State and reposition it as a true fountain of knowledge and excellence.
“Ekiti needs a new kind of leadership she described as a servant leader. Leadership rooted in truth, compassion, accountability, and progress. Not propaganda, not empty slogans, not deception”, she declared.
