Many Nigerians have been expressing several mixed feelings and having their reservations as it now remains a period of 16 Days for the Presidential and the National Assembly Elections to hold in the Country.

Barely a week now, crises and clashes erupted in the popular Yoruba epic and historic town of Ibadan in Oyo State where some banks and police stations were touched by some protesters protesting the scarcity of petrol and the circumstances surrounding the sudden change of the old naira notes to the new naira notes via a policy introduced by the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele in collaboration with the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led Federal government in the Country.

As a result of the Ibadan protests last week, some banks were terribly vandalized and a police station burnt down to ashes without a remedy.

As if that was not enough, yesterday at Abeokuta in Ogun State, some unknown hoodlums took advantage of a group of protesters and attacked a First Bank branch in the ancient city of Abeokuta in Ogun State probably to commit some heinous crime activities.

It was widely reported how some military personnels when called to intervene in the Abeokuta situation ended up indiscriminately firing gun shots which eventually led to the loss of lives with several innocent passersby getting injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment to save their lives.

At Akure, the capital city of Ondo State on Wednesday (today), another sets of protesters converged at the Road block area in Akure, and decided to embark on a peaceful protests by blocking a major road linking Ilesa in Osun to Akure in Ondo State for several hours.

As a result of their protest, the road was literally shut down and it was generally observed that the residents of Akure deserted the roads as it was empty.

Going by the details and informations the organisers of the Akure Peaceful Protest circulated online few days ago, through WhatsApp platforms and facebooks pages, it was disclosed that the Peaceful Protest will last for three days starting today Wednesday and ending on Friday.

They specifically mentioned in their information flier, circulated on the social media platforms; that the first day of the peaceful protests will hold at the popular road block infront of the Chicken Republic in Akure, while the second will be held at the Catholic Cathedral area of the State Capital, Ado Ekiti. Also, that, the third and last lap of the protests will be end at the First Bank branch area of Ado Ekiti.
